Winner-1st Plcae-Capstone Fair 2022

Congratulations to Team#23 (Anna Koevoet, Kieran Roberts, Jake Ruschkowski, Eddie Kuhnlein) for winning first place in Capstone Fair 2022  at the University of Calgary. Their project was focused on creating a device that can be used to capture knee angle by performance athletes, clinicians, and physiotherapists as an alternative to motion capture. It was a pleasure working with motivated and talented students. I am sure we will be hearing more great news from their achievements in the near future.

Dr Walter Herzog-Killam Annual Professor

My former supervisor Dr. Walter Herzog was named a Killam Annual Professor. This prestigious award was given to Walter for his remarkable research on skeletal muscle properties, function and mechanisms of contraction.

LRIC Mentorship Program

I was one of the mentees in the 2020 LRIC Mentorship Program. The workshops, farms visit, and seminars were very interactive, which helped me to get connected with the livestock industry and learn about recent advances in the industry.  We had the opportunity to meet cattle and sheep producers, talk to LRIC partner’s representatives, and connect with researchers across the campus. The LRIC Mentorship Program’s benefits to junior faculties like me are invaluable. The short-term outcome of LRIC Early Career Faculty – Industry Mentorship Program was initiating a new AI-Veterinary research area in my group that is a relatively new field of research with great potential for improvements.  https://www.livestockresearch.ca/early_faculty_mentorship_program
